In which online degree program do you teach?

    1

    • What do you want students to take away from your courses?

In all my courses I use a “contingency” approach. I want students to be able to identify what factors influence decisions, and how they affect them.

    • Why did you start teaching?

I enjoy learning. In my courses I share what I have learned and learn from the class.

    • What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

Pursuing your degree is not only part of your education, it is a part of your professional career. Stay engaged, build your KSA's (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities), and have fun.

    • What qualities make someone particularly successful in the area in which you teach?

A willingness to accept challenges, enabled by being a good listener and lifelong learner.

    • What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?

Managers must move from an outdated “profit maximization” model of running organizations to a more sustainable “triple bottom line” model of people, profit, and planet.

    • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

For managers, I recommend “The Effective Executive” by Peter Drucker.

    • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know about you.

Among my professional sidetracks, I was an actor and sword fight choreographer.
