To give back to the profession that has given me so much and to ensure that the next generation of nurses are competent in fulfilling our nation's healthcare needs.

What qualities make someone particularly successful in the area in which you teach?
The successful student possesses effective communication skills with an emphasis on patient and family education and advocacy.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?
Nurses must place greater emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, all while contributing to decreasing healthcare costs and improving quality of care.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
“Fast Food Nation” by Eric Schlosser.
