In which online degree program do you teach?

  • What do you want students to take away from your courses?

    I want students to have an analytical toolkit and theoretical knowledge to understand criminal justice research and data in order to use that data to alleviate harm through their professional work.

  • Why did you start teaching?

    I started teaching share my knowledge with those entering criminal justice careers because these careers have such a large impact on society. If they have the tools to understand and act with integrity and humanity to address the harms in society, we all benefit.

  • What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

    Our program doesn't just give you a criminal justice degree, it prepares you for leadership roles and advancement in whatever career you choose.   • What qualities make someone particularly successful in the area in which you teach?

    Specialized skills, analytical capabilities, communication and written capabilities, honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

    For Criminal Justice majors, "Locked In: The True Causes of Mass Incarceration" by John Pfaff.
