I have worked in the hospitality industry as well as in academic institutions. I have been published in numerous journals, I have received grants from the World Bank, I have been inducted into the Walmart Hall of Fame, and I have been honored for academic teaching excellence on numerous occasions.

Why did you start teaching?
I was inspired by one of my instructors.
What advice would you give to those considering this online program?
You need to balance your various commitments and enjoy interaction with your peers.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the area in which you teach?
The ability to serve students in multiple capacities (mentor, coach, instructor, etc.) and to do so with compassion and respect.
What do you think is the biggest challenge that people in the profession face today?
Being able to communicate effectively with the student.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
Every book has something to offer.
