In which online degree program do you teach?

  • Which classes do you teach online?

NUR 5701: Population Health Legislation and Social Policy; NUR 6011: Advanced Pharmacology

  • What do you want students to take away from your courses?

I would like students to have the information and skills to apply to real-life clinical situations, thereby providing them with the process to analyze and think critically in their practice going forward.

  • Why did you start teaching?

I have always enjoyed both the practice and educational sides of being a nurse and nurse practitioner. Doing both, I felt I could impart my experience to new practitioners and, at the same time, learn from them.

  • What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

My advice is to first look at their current life commitments. Then, review the program they may be interested in as to tech requirements, time frame for completion of course work, reviews from students who have taken the program, and if they have further questions.
